Upload documents in international shipments

When shipping internationally, some carriers may require additional documents beyond the commercial invoice to comply with customs regulations of the destination country.

On Envia.com you can upload these documents immediately after generating your waybill, from the same shipment confirmation screen.

Packages available

This functionality is currently available for:

  • DHL Express
  • UPS
  • FedEx

ℹ️ Availability may vary according to country of origin, destination and type of shipment.

Upload additional documents

After completing all shipment data and click on Generate guide, If you click on the button, the system will display the confirmation screen: Shipping label was successfully created.

On this screen you will find the International shipping files.

1. Click on the drop-down menu in the section International shipping files and click on the dropdown.

2. Select the type of document you wish to attach.

ℹ️ Only one document can be uploaded at a time.

3. Upload the document from your computer. Verify that:

  • The document is valid.
  • The file does not exceed the allowed size. (5MB)
  • The document corresponds to the information declared in the shipment.

If the file meets the requirements, it will be automatically sent to the courier and will be associated with your tracking number.

Types of documents

The documents available may vary depending on the package and country of destination.

Certificate of origin

Document certifying the country where the product was manufactured.

Used for:

  • Implement trade agreements.
  • Obtain tariff benefits.
  • Comply with import regulations of the destination country.

Commercial invoice

Commercial invoice describing:

  • Products shipped.
  • Quantities.
  • Declared value.
  • Sender and recipient information.

Customs uses this document to calculate taxes and validate the merchandise.

ETD label

Electronic document associated with the Electronic Trade Documents (ETD).

Allows business documentation to be transmitted digitally to the parcel without the need to provide additional hard copies (depending on the country and carrier).

USMCA Certificate of Origin

Certificate of origin under the trade agreement between:

  • USA
  • Mexico
  • Canada

It is used to apply tariff benefits when the merchandise complies with the rules of origin established in the treaty.

USMCA Commercial Invoice Certificate

Integrated version where certification of origin under USMCA is included within the commercial invoice.

It is used when:

  • The operation requires both commercial invoice and certification under treaty.
  • The exporter wants to simplify documentation.

Proforma Invoice

Proforma invoice used when:

  • The merchandise does not have a definitive commercial value.
  • These are samples, gifts or shipments without sales.

It is used to declare the estimated value to customs.
