Packaging methods

To ensure your shipments arrive in perfect condition, follow these general guidelines for the two most popular packaging methods, as well as recommendations for irregular or oddly shaped items.

Single-box packaging method

This method is ideal for shipping non-fragile products.

  • Use a sturdy outer box: Place your soft products inside a strong outer box.
  • Void fill: Use filling materials such as newspaper, polystyrene, or bubble wrap to prevent items from moving inside the box during transport.
  • Moisture protection: For items that may be affected by dirt, water, or moisture, place them in a plastic bag before packaging.
  • Package sealing: Use the H method of packaging to seal your package.

Box-in-box packaging method

This method is perfect for more fragile products.

  • Wrap individually: Each product should be wrapped with at least 5 cm (2 inches) of bubble wrap or foam material. Make sure it fits easily inside a corrugated cardboard box.
  • Movement prevention: Use crumpled newspaper, polystyrene, or other filling material to prevent the product from moving inside the box.
  • Inner box sealing: Close and seal the inner box using the H method of sealing. This prevents the box from accidentally opening.

  • Use of a second box: The outer box should be at least 15 cm (6 inches) larger in all dimensions than the inner box.
  • Cushioning: Use filling material to secure the inner box inside the outer one.
  • Individual shipping: Wrap fragile products separately with a minimum thickness of 8 cm (3 inches).
  • Proper filling: Use 8 cm (3 inches) of bubble wrap or other material to fill the spaces between the boxes.
  • Sealing: Apply the H method to seal the package.
