2FA: Two-factor authentication

What is 2FA?

Two-step authentication (2FA) “Two-Factor Authentication”) is an additional layer of security that verifies your identity every time you log in to Envia.com. In addition to your password, you need a one-time code generated by an app on your phone. That way, even if someone gets your password, they won't be able to access your account without that second factor.

Benefits

🛡️ Prevention of cyber-attacksMakes unauthorized access to information systems more difficult.
🔒 Protection against unauthorized accessPrevents logins from unknown devices.
👤 Reducing the risk of account theft.Only the authorized user can access through a code.
✅ Increased control and safetyOnly you will have access to your account through a verification code.

Activating 2FA is an effective way to protect your accounts and ensure that only you have access to your personal information.

How does it work?

At Envia.com we use a QR code authentication method, adding an extra layer of security for users who choose to activate it. The process is as follows:

  1. Log in to your Envia.com account
  2. If you have 2FA enabled, the platform will ask you for the verification code generated by your app.
  3. Enter the code to log in to your account.

ℹ️ Your device will be remembered by 30 days. After that period, or if you sign in from a new device, you'll be asked for the code again.

Enable 2FA

You need to have an app installed on your phone authentication application, It's a free app that generates one-time codes to verify that it's really you logging in. The most commonly used ones are Google Authenticator and Authy, available on the App Store and Google Play.

  1. Log in to your Envia.com account.
  2. In the side menu, go to Settings > My Account.
  3. Select the tab Security.
  4. On the card Two-factor authentication, click Add +.
  5. A modal window with instructions will open. You have two options for linking your app:
    • Scan the QR code: Open your authentication app, select Add Account and scan the code that appears on the screen.
    • Manual code: If you can't scan the QR code, copy the alphanumeric code that appears below and enter it manually into your app.
  6. Your app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter it in the field Code and confirm.

ℹ️ If the 2FA setup screen appears when you log in and you don't want to set it up at that moment, you can temporarily skip it. You can enable it later under Settings > My Account > Security.

Remove 2FA

ℹ️ When you disable 2FA, your account will be protected by your password alone. Only do it if you have a valid reason.

1. Log in to your Envia.com account.

2. In the side menu, go to Settings > My account.

3. Select the tab Security.

4. On the card Two-factor authentication, click the delete icon 🗑️.

5. In the pop-up window, click on Delete to confirm.

Password Authentication

In the same section Settings > My Account > Security You'll find a second option: Password Authentication. This is an alternative way to verify your identity using your device (fingerprint, Face ID, or a physical security key) instead of an authentication app.

ℹ️ This option is separate from app-based 2FA. You can have both enabled or just one.

Regain Access If You've Lost Your Device

If you no longer have access to your authentication app (you lost your phone, uninstalled the app, switched devices), you won't be able to generate the verification code. In that case:

  1. On the login screen, enter your email address and password.
  2. When you're prompted for the 2FA code, look for the option Don't have access to your device? or something similar.
  3. If that option does not appear, please contact Envia.com Support so that an agent can safely disable 2FA for your account.

FAQ

Can I disable 2FA if I already had it set up? Yes. Go to Settings > My Account > Security and remove the authentication method from the Two-Factor Authentication card.

Can I change another user's 2FA settings at my company? No. 2FA is the individual responsibility of each user. For security and privacy reasons, no user can view or modify another user's 2FA settings, even if they work for the same company.

Which authentication apps are supported? Any app that generates one-time, single-use codes, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator. All of them are free and available on the App Store and Google Play.

How often does the verification code change? The codes are temporary and refresh every 30 seconds. If you enter the code and it doesn't work, wait for your app to generate a new one and try again.

What happens if I get a new phone? You'll need to re-link your new authentication app. If you no longer have access to your previous app, see the “Recover access if you've lost your device” section of this article.
