Choose the right packaging

Choosing the right packaging is essential to protect your products during transport. Here are the key points to help your shipments arrive in good condition.

  • Use strong corrugated cardboard boxes, especially if you ship heavy products or send them long distances.

  • Avoid old or damaged boxes. They cannot handle shipping conditions and may break.

Allowed weight on an LTL shipment

  • The item should not touch the walls of the box, so it does not get damaged. Leave at least 5 cm (2 in) of space around the product for filler.

  • If the object has an irregular shape, add extra protective material to cushion possible impacts.

Filler to occupy empty space in the box

  • Use extra cushioning and special handling labels for fragile or high-value products.
  • Use protective foam, bubble wrap, or pads for products such as electronics or glass.

Keep dry label on LTL freight

If the packaging must meet specific rules (such as retail packaging or safety regulations), choose a design that meets the regulatory requirements.
